Urgent medical assistance has been secured for veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, after his daughter, Kira, publicly cried out over his health condition.
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, the Ogun West Senator and APC governorship candidate for Ogun State, reportedly intervened following the family’s appeal for help.
On Monday night, Kira shared an emotional video in which she revealed that her father was battling stage 4 cancer and had reportedly been denied chemotherapy by the hospital.
She appealed to members of the public to recommend medical or traditional specialists who could assist in treating the actor, stressing that she was not seeking financial donations.
Her sister, Lima, also spoke about their father’s condition, claiming that hospitals were refusing to treat him.
Lima reiterated that the family was not asking for money but needed a medical expert who could attend to the veteran actor. In an emotional plea, she said she did not want her father to die.
Following the public appeals, actress Toyosi Adesanya shared an update revealing that Senator Yayi had personally contacted top cancer specialists to secure urgent medical assistance for Ogogo.
According to the update, the veteran actor has since been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment.
“Senator Yayi personally reached out to top cancer specialists, and we are grateful to learn that Ogogo has now been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment,” the statement said.
The update also called for prayers for a successful procedure, complete recovery, renewed strength and many more years of good health for the Nollywood veteran.
It further expressed appreciation to those who had prayed for Ogogo, shared the family’s appeal or offered suggestions on where he could receive medical attention.
“Ogogo, we are standing with you. You will come out stronger!” the statement added.
